Teachers vs Earthquakes

As Italian National Partner of the ERASMUS+ project "Psychological Literacy for Educators" we are creating this important space within our portal, as a recognition of the vital role played by teachers operating in earthquake-prone areas.

Teachers in these regions must manage emergency situations while maintaining continuity in educational programs and, above all, addressing the psychological stress resulting from traumatic events affecting themselves, their students, and their families. These are terrible moments, often marked by the loss of loved ones under the rubble of collapsed buildings. Moreover, teachers often face displacement due to the inaccessibility of schools and homes, seeking refuge in emergency shelters where new and complex educational and psychological challenges arise. This ERASMUS+ project acknowledges these real emergencies, aiming to find practical solutions and offer necessary support. As a first step, we are creating a map of the territories affected by devastating seismic events, which have not only destroyed urban infrastructures but also caused tragic loss of life.
