PARTNER OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MENTAL HEALTH CARE “Mental Health: Global challenges of XXI century”

Chamber for Cooperation and Incentive to Partnership (CCIP) is the exclusive italian partner of the The International Platform on Mental Health and cooperates for the success of the IV INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MENTAL HEALTH CARE “Mental Health: Global challenges of XXI century”.

Mental Health Care (MHC) in the contemporary world has become a global problem with a number of negative consequences. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental and behavioural disorders are extremely common and affect up to 25% of all people in different periods of their lives. The WHO notes that in the future, given the ageing population and worsening social problems, the number of MHC cases will increase considerably.

Simultaneously, each country in the world faces significant hindrances in both socio-psychological and economic aspects of the MHC system. No country has yet been able to completely solve this problem. This creates an urgent need in joint efforts towards searching for solutions of common problems.

Main objectives:

* to attract researchers’ and policy-makers’ attention to MHC urgent problems

* to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and development of (non)-academic MHC researchers, practitioners and policy-makers networks

* to promote high quality research on MH in developing and in-transition countries
* to investigate transdisciplinary and multicultural solutions of MHC specific issues

12-13 of November in the City of Quito

The JMDI, with its partners UNITAR and KNOMAD, is pleased to announce that the Second Mayoral Forum on Mobility, Migration and Development successfully took place on 12-13 of November in the City of Quito, Ecuador and gathered 86 Mayors, City Representatives and International Organizations who discussed topics on migration, development and human mobility. The JMDI, with its partners UNITAR and KNOMAD, is pleased to announce that the Second Mayoral Forum on Mobility, Migration and Development successfully took place on 12-13 of November in the City of Quito, Ecuador and gathered 86 Mayors, City Representatives and members of International Organisations who discussed topics on migration, development and human mobility. With the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Mayoral Forum on Mobility, Migration and Development was organized by the City Council of Quito, in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOMAD) and the Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI).The Mayoral Forum is an annual global gathering of Mayors and senior city administrators and other local and regional authorities, with the international community of inter-governmental experts, academics, donors and NGOs.  Its main purposes are to strategize and propose new and innovative approaches to urban governance in contexts of greater diversity, and to support cities’ implementation of migration policies for inclusive growth. Mauricio Rodas, Mayor of Quito, expressed during the Opening Ceremony that “It is essential to promote fora such as these, where different initiatives converge, that allow us, first of all, to ensure full respect for the human rights of people migrating to the cities”.

By recognizing the relevant role of local authorities in the mainstreaming of migration for development, the Forum aimed to share the good practices and relevant research amongst cities managing human mobility and triggering development and provided mayors and municipal leaders with a space to share knowledge and strategize on where cities are and can make inroads into fostering the implementation of the SDGs for the benefit of migrants and their families, and for city dwellers at large. Quito released a Final Outcome Document (available in English, Spanish and French) which brings together the voices of all participants of the Forum into a proposal document that highlights the key role of LRAs in implementing the migration related indicators of the SDGs by looking at specific targeted action areas that correspond to the SDG indicators. The expertise and voice of many other LRAs and other M&D actors globally were also fed into this Document through an e-discussion ran by the JMDI which asked participants to comment on the draft Final Outcome Document and share their good practices and expertise. The day prior to the Forum, the JMDI also organized a training session based on the “JMDI Toolbox” and attended by at least 13 local authorities and stakeholders that were also participating in the Forum.  The course aimed to provide the attendees with an overall knowledge on the links between migration and development and on the complementarity of the different actors involved in local M&D processes. The training also raised awareness amongst the participants about the opportunities for territorial partnerships and cooperation within and across borders and the specific role of migrants ‘agency for development.[Cecile Riallant, JMDI Programme Manager presenting the toolbox to Mayor Rodas]

Russia's leading specialised Medical Tourism Exhibition directly targeting patients plus agents and facilitators. Professional exhibition bringing overseas clinics and medical tourism providers into direct contact with Russian patients.  The number of Russian's now actively seeking health treatment abroad rose 47% in the last year making it one of the fastest growing sectors worldwide. It is now reputedly estimated that more than 70,000 affluent Russians travel each year for medical treatments abroad spending in excess of US$.1.4 billion annually.

There are many reasons for this. Firstly the Russian economy continues to grow with the result that the fast developing middle and upper class have disposable income and are eager to improve their health/wellbeing. Medicine in Russia continues to be dependent on Western medical supplies and experience and it is estimated that there are 40,000 to few doctors in Russia and 61% polled by the Levada centre are not satisfied with the level of medical treatment in Russia

"Medical tourism continues to increase in popularity in Russia due to the many benefits that are associated with receiving medical treatment abroad"

Russians are also tired of the attitude from Russian Doctors describing many as unfriendly and paternalistic not explaining the course of the medicine prescribed. With regard to treatment abroad, Russian's believe that you pay your money and you are treated with respect and professionalism. The Moscow MedShow 18&19 March 2016 is the only specialised B2C exhibition in Moscow that brings you into direct contact with potential Russian patients. Our highly targeted marketing and promotions attract a high quality visitor actively seeking information and consultations on medical treatment abroad. Our venue is central, convenient and the size perfectly suited to a professional B2C exhibition. We provide a standard shell scheme stand that offers the opportunity for decorations, privacy when speaking with potential clients and alleviates the need for expensive custom build stands. The Moscow MedShow is an effective professional B2Cexhibition that will bring you into direct contact with your target audience - affluent Russians looking for Medical treatment abroad.

IFAS  Zürich

The IFAS, which took place at the Messe Zurich exhibition centre  increased its exhibitor participation by 5 percent and brought in 16,590 visitors over the four fair days, offering them the opportunity to learn about the latest products and services in the healthcare industry. These days, very little is left untouched by the onward march of digitalisation. How we interact with the media, prefer to shop, obtain information and address culture, music and film – none of this is as it was before the birth of the internet. Digitalisation also affects how we tend to work as well. It creates ideal networks for us and helps us market ourselves via social media – and yet the process of digitalisation has only just begun, and there are even more changes to come. All good reasons why we must not lose sight of the human dimension, particularly in the healthcare business, because people and their health are paramount. In the medical technology industry, human values are the motivating and driving force behind innovations and ideas, research and development and the production of high-quality product solutions to serve the medical care needs of the people of Switzerland now and in the future. As part of IFAS, CareFair is the first Swiss job fair to give prospective and established healthcare professionals the direct opportunity to learn about the individual employers. At the same time, the fair gives the exhibiting institutions and companies an excellent opportunity to advertise their strong points and recruit new staff on the spot. A fair worth visiting!
